The sun is my major source of energy. I have always wondered why I feel sluggish and depressed when it gets dark, and happier and energetic during the day. Today, I found the answer.. it is Melatonin. I came across the below:
“Lack of exposure to sunlight is responsible for the secretion of the hormone melatonin, which could trigger a dispirited mood & a lethargic condition. Melatonin is only produced in the dark. It lowers the body temperature and makes you feel sluggish.”
Now I know why the sun brightens up my day! I love sunny days
